There are 6-10 tournaments per year that may include the Delta, Shasta, Clear Lake, Folsom, Millerton, and various lakes in the Motherlode region. There are also opportunities to compete in the Major League Fishing High School Western tournaments. The tournament season runs from September to June. Student Anglers must have a partner for the competitions. Most students pair up for the entire year to earn team points. We try to pair a student with a boat with one who does not have a boat. If both students do not have a boat, an attempt is made to find a volunteer boater for the events. Boat captains must be at least 19 years or older. The tournaments are a commitment that involves traveling and challenging weather conditions. Students who are competing must be dedicated anglers who can handle tough physical and mental conditions. Middle schoolers will compete in the Jr. Division, and 9th-12th graders will compete in the High School Division.
